Ventilated resistive groups
Construction and execution BUV
The BUV1 and BUV2 resistors are groups composed of SCE cemented resistors or RDP wire-wound resistors, with IP20 environmental protection level and whose cooling is achieved by fans.At the same power level, the length and height of the BUVs are about half the size of equivalent non-ventilated resistors, therefore they are compact realizations.
BUV1 - BUV2 resistors can be equipped with a thermo-switch (BUVT).
Subject to limitations in the obtainable powers, anti-inductive versions (BUVN) can be realized.
The BUV1 - BUV2 resistors are applied by braking and also for load banks and their standard installation is vertical, while for horizontal applications a derating of at least 30% is required. This type of resistors is intended primarily for use in indoor applications.
Features
- Range of power levels from 1 kW to 8 kW.
- Ohmic range: 2 Ω to 10 kΩ
- Dielectric strength (1 min @ 50Hz): 3500Vac
Construction and execution BRU
The BRU resistors are groups composed of cemented or RDP wire wound resistors, with IP20 environmental protection level and whose cooling is achieved by fans. Also in this case at the same level of power, the length and height of the BRUs are about half the size of equivalent non-ventilated resistors, therefore they are compact realizations.
BRU resistors can be equipped with a thermo-switch (BRUT).
Subject to limitations in the obtainable powers, anti-inductive versions (BRUN) can be realized.
The BRU resistors are applied by braking and also for load banks and their standard installation is vertical (fans at the bottom), while for horizontal applications a derating of at least 30% is required. This type of resistors is intended primarily for use in indoor applications.
Features
-
- Range of power levels from 10 kW to 21kW
- Ohmic range from 2 Ω to 10 kΩ
- Dielectric strength (1 min @ 50Hz): 3500Vac
Construction and execution BDRF
The BDRF resistors are groups composed of RDP wire-wound resistors, with IP20/IP21 environmental protection level and whose cooling is achieved by fans with mesh voltage of 220Vac.At the same power level, the length and height of the BDRF are about half the size of equivalent non-ventilated resistors, therefore they are compact realizations.
BDRF resistors can be equipped with a thermo-switch (BDRFT).
The BDRF resistors are applied by braking and also for load banks and their standard installation is vertical. The BDRF resistors can used in indoor applications IP20 (K0) and also for outdoor application IP21 (K4).

Range of power levels from 25 kW to 90 kW.Ohmic range: 2 Ω to 350 Ω
Dielectric strength (1 min @ 50Hz): 4500Vac
