Aluminium housed resistors RFH/RFHA
Construction and execution
The resistors RFH 350-1200, RFH 1000-1900, RFH 1500-2200, RFH-H 1000-1900 and RFHA 1500-2800 are characterized by higher levels of power that can be dissipated thanks to the aluminum heat sink integrated in the housing. Therefore, compared to other resistors in metal enclosures they allow the dissipation of higher energy levels. These levels can reach 130-140 kJ in the resistors RFH 1000-1900, RFH 1500-2200 and RFHA 1500-2800, while for the resistors RFH 350-1200 the max value of adiabatic energy does not go beyond 60 kJ.In resistors RFH 350-1200 the resistive element consists in winding the resistive wire on a suitable ceramic support, which, after cementing, is inserted into the aluminum housing, with the aid of ceramic guides, and adequately insulated with the addition of mica strips. In the resistors RFH 1000-1900, RFH 1500-2200 and RFHA 1500-2800 the resistive element consists instead of a resistive spiral inserted in ceramic tubes having the function of supporting and isolating the same resistive wire. These resistors have a high level of environmental protection (IP54/IP55/IP65 depending on the models).
The enclosures of all resistors of the RFH family are filled with an inorganic filler capable of withstanding temperatures above 400°C and sealed.
The characteristic application of the family of resistors in aluminum enclosures is braking.
